Certification in New York costs $195.00, takes 27.5 hours (7.5 online + 2 days in person), and requires you to be 15 and swim 300 yards.

Our Blended Learning format allows you to complete theory-based video modules online at home. This maximizes your time for hands-on, in-water practice during your weekend sessions.
Attend your first scheduled session ready to demonstrate the mandatory swimming endurance, strength, and retrieval benchmarks.
Work alongside certified instructors to master rescues, spinal injury management, and professional CPR/AED applications in a controlled, realistic pool environment.
Pass the final written evaluations (minimum score 80%). Your official, 2-year OSHA-compliant credentials will be issued promptly, ready for your job applications.

A functional, athletic-style swimsuit (one-piece preferred) appropriate for rigorous water activity.

At least two dry towels and a warm change of clothes or a sweatshirt to help maintain body temperature during breaks.

A reusable water bottle and nutritious, high-energy snacks to keep you fueled.

Valid government or school-issued photo identification to verify your age on Day 1.
While hiring requirements vary by employer, many aquatic facilities look for candidates with current Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications from nationally recognized training organizations.
