LIFEGUARD TRAINING HEADQUARTERS – Your Center for Life Guard Training
$195 Expect 27.5 hours: online coursework plus one skills session in person. The resulting certification is valid for two years.
Our training partner American Aquatics & Safety Training schedules and runs the classes.
York County classes separate theory from practice: the coursework is online and self-paced, the assessment is in the water. A York County certification covers water rescue, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid inside one 27.5-hour course.
Two components make up the course. The online half handles surveillance, rescue theory and emergency action planning. The in-person half is assessment: entries, approaches, extrications and spinal management.
Lifeguard courses in York County are open to candidates aged 15 and over who can pass the prerequisite swim test. Most people who become a lifeguard in York County go on to work at community pools, waterparks, school and university facilities and open-water sites across Pennsylvania.
The fee in York County is $195 and covers everything, the online modules, the in-person session, and a two year certification. York County runs classes year-round, with the online portion available as soon as you sign up.
