Certification also demands yearly 16 hours rescue expertise training for its validity. Lifeguard training in US maintains standards for seasonal and full time lifeguards, minimum 40 hours of training in water are mandatory for seasonal and minimum 48 hours of training in water are compulsory for fulltime lifeguards. The training method and procedure has also some rudiments for the candidate to be followed before starting the job as a lifeguard. The person must have minimum 16 years of age and has the knowhow of first aid procedures. The one with prior certification of first aid will be preferred. Sound health, good eyesight, good auditory performance and endurance are additional qualities to participate in the training
